Welcome to our blog ~ 22/02/11

Rachel's parents live on a smallholding in Hampshire where this weekend 22 gorgeous little chicks hatched right in front of our eyes. We captured this shot just an hour after this one pecked its way out of its egg to join its fluffy brothers and sisters:

It seems that new life is springing up everywhere. On Friday we photographed the beautiful Christelle, who was ... wait for it ... just one day away from giving birth! Talk about supermum. She and her son Luca were naturals in front of the camera and our baby bump portrait session ran over by an hour because we were having so much fun! We can't wait for Christelle to bring her new baby son to the studio for a newborn portrait shoot.

The Barlow family wanted a set of pet pictures to match the personality of their crazy dog, Sidders. To say it was a challenge is an understatement. The dog is an utter lunatic with no manners and no understanding of the word 'sit'. We fell in love with him instantly :o)

We love moody portrait photography using minimal chinks of light on a simple black background so it was great to get our hands on such a fabulous model as Pete who really suits and enjoys this kind of lighting.

Jamie came for a portrait sitting on Saturday, never having had her portrait taken before. Within seconds she was a natural and was a joy to photograph.
